RISD/CESSNA DESIGN OF FLIGHT EXPERIENCE STUDIO
X Environments was a research studio sponsored by the Cessna Aircraft Company to develop new concepts for their new jet plane coming out in 2019-2020.
Our research group comprised of Jazz Bonin and Lei Quan from Interior Architecture, and Jake Amrhein and myself from the Industrial Design department. Upon extensive research of Cessna and their customers, we developed the Tabula Rasa concept.
Tabula Rasa is a subscription based application which records flight requirements and travel habits. Combined with highly customizable slotted interiors and plug-in furniture, Tabula Rasa allows for high customization of plane interiors while optimizing technological adaptability. As a team we designed the lock mechanism, custom plug-in furniture and an app for the concept.
